Your Shots

nationalgeographic.com has a really cool feature on their website. It's called Your Shot and it's where you can submit a photo you took and it may be picked for the Daily Dozen. Melissa, you should do that! Sign up here. These are some photos that I found really pretty.

Crazy, but those are pine cones that were frozen and crystallized in New England during the worst winter storm of the season. The photographer took it while he was on the way out for emergency supplies; they had no electricity for five days!
A bumblebee and hummingbird are arguing over the nectar. I forgot which one flew away and lost; I think it was the bee.
Dutch dancing!

The man felt a pair of eyes on him, so he looked over to his neighbors. This little guy was on the roof watching him! I love owls.
Canadian geese..looks pretty chilly!
I really, really, really love this photo. His eyes are beautiful and the colors are great.

This was taken in Africa. They were having lunch and this little lion was 5o feet away from them. He was completely content and ignored them. His dinner was already served!

I'm pretty sure this is in India, but I don't know for sure. I love how the goats are looking at her with smiles!
The photographer drives cross country many times due to his job. He always sees homeless people. This is one man and his dog.
I'm not too sure where this is.
The story behind this is they threw the flowers in the ocean for a memorial of their brother in law. They came back to the beach the next day and all the flowers were standing upright in the sand.
HA! Dog at 80 mph on interstate..seems to be a sunroof!
A Romanian woman. She is sick since an invasion. I would much rather look like her than this.
A refuge in Africa. He's waiting for food
It's a field for old model cars! Isn't it so nice?

Inauguration

Isn't that cool? It was built on a beach in India.
These are gold coins that are made in England and to be shipped over to the U.S. It has Obama's face on it to honor his inauguration. It's value is twenty dollars!
The newspaper in Paris already had the image of Barack and Michelle Obama walking down to the oath! However, not all countries are supportive. This is in Lebanon; the woman with the "baby" (wrapped up cloth) represents all the innocent killings that happened. They are burning Obama's picture in Iran.
The Bush and Obama's
Colin Powell and author Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel has written numerous books, one being Night. In Sophmore English, we read it. Elie Wiesel survived the Nazi camp, Auschwitz, which was one of the worst. It's cool he was there!

These are only some camera men who were setting up before the inauguration started.
Before massive crowds.

WITH Massive Crowds
Joe Biden getting sworn in with wife Jill. I find it awesome that he is from Scranton, PA!!
Michelle, Barack, Sasha, and Malia after Obama got sworn in.
"We have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord."

Their first dance at the Inauguration Ball. I love her gown and his bowtie!

We watched the inauguration in the chapel, so we missed fourth period. The school is mostly republican so not many people were psyched. Some ignorant people said they wanted to see him get shot while taking his oath. I hit the person in the chest for saying that and told him to not wish that upon people even if the candidate he wanted didn't win the election.

reception

Sunday was Jason & Kristy's wedding reception for those who couldn't make it to the Florida wedding.

My attire for the event!Jason took this of us while we were setting up.
Jason also took this on of Kristy and Ricky going out to the car.
Uncle Johnny and Aunt Yvonne! Uncle Johnny respects my picture taking; Aunt Yvonne, not so much.
Mr. "I Don't Like Kids" was holding Gabby, Buffa and Katherine's girl, for half the reception. Keep your eyes peeled out for how many pictures feature these two.
Some of the family eating/talking.
"Gawd!" Aunt Jessie should trademark that.
Exhibit B
...and Exhibit C..
Momma! (..Exhibit D in the background)
Grandmother and Mrs. Jerry
Peeps chatting it up.
Debbie: Allison, their cutting the cake.
Me: *stand up, look, sit down, nod and smile to Debbie*
Debbie: Well, take a PICTURE!

Uncle Charlie spies my cameraSome of the set up of the frame and picture table. Look at Mickey and Minnie!
More of the table..
even more.. The kitties in the frames are Kristy's cats that died this year :( Meeko, the one of the left, died while they were in Disney World. The picture is of when he was a baby.

The table as a whole!

That concludes my Thanksgiving extravaganza posting for now. I may have some pictures tomorrow because I am going to be participating in Black Friday with Rachel! We will leave at 3 AM for target. What shall I wear, what shall I wear?!
